The Pitzer学院 写作中心 conducts the hiring process in the Spring for new hires to begin working the following Fall. Please review the information below to learn more about the requirements for the position.

- Are Pitzer 学生 who consult with student writers on projects across the disciplines.
- Typically work 2 two-hour or 1 three-hour shift per week with additional shifts during midterms 和 finals.
- Participate in a full-day orientation session on the Saturday following the first week of classes.
- Receive paid training through h和s-on workshops, 全体员工会议, 和 Peer Tutoring Mentor Group meetings throughout the year.
- Publicize the 写作中心 around campus 和 engage in special team projects with their Peer Tutoring Mentor Group.
- Complete the required full- or half-credit course:
- Full-credit course (WRIT100b: 写作中心 Theory 和 实践): Friday afternoons, 1:15pm-4pm (PT)
- Half-credit course (WRIT100a: 写作中心 Theory 和 实践): Friday afternoons, 1:15pm-2:45pm (PT)

They also attend professional development workshops throughout the academic year 和 register for the Fall full- 和 half-credit course WRIT100b/a:写作中心理论 & 实践 on Fridays from 1:15pm-4pm (full-credit)/1:15pm-2:45pm (half-credit).
写作中心 Fellows work approximately 80-100 hours in the Fall Semester 和 75-85 hours in the Spring—typically in one or two 3-hour shifts per week based on the Center’s needs 和 the Fellow’s interest 和 availability. Opportunities are available for additional paid hours working on special projects or taking on extra shifts during busier times of the semester.

- Are Pitzer 写作中心 Fellows who play a special role during Fellowship season (four weeks in Sept/early Oct).
- Are paid to be embedded in the weekly IGLAS/Fulbright Research or ETA course, where they learn about application requirements 和 facilitate in-class draft workshops (3 hours per week in September only).
